About Us
We are the church of Christ that meets in Warner Robins, GA. Our purpose in existing is to fulfill the role of the local church as God prescribed in the New Testament. We do not claim to be perfect; we simply "proclaim the excellencies of Him" who is perfect (1 Peter 2:9). As such, it is our responsibility to follow the pattern of worship that He laid forth as demonstrated by His apostles and the faithful churches recorded in the Bible.
The church was bought at great price by our Savior, and only His blood could cleanse her. Who then are we to defile something so sacred by the "wisdom" of man? Naturally, this means that we do not follow any additional doctrines or practices promoted by any man or denomination. Rather, we diligently strive "not to exceed what is written" (1 Corinthians 4:6).
Why "Church of Christ"
Ephesians 5: "...Christ also is the head of the church, He Himself being the Savior of the body"(v24). "...Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her; that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she should be holy and blameless" (v25-27). --NASB
Christ gave His life for the church. He sanctified her. It is His church. Therefore, if we claim to be followers of Christ, shouldn't we wear His name? If the church is the Bride of Christ, shouldn't she wear His name? It's as simple as that. We go by the name "church of Christ" because we are a church of Christ. A biblical reference using this name can even be found at Romans 16:16--"...All the churches of Christ greet you."
Community Setting
Robins Air Force Base is essentially the foundation upon which the city of Warner Robins and its neighboring communities were built. Even now the base is still a major focus of the community and the primary employer of this Middle Georgia area. As such many of our members have some affiliation with the base--whether Active Duty USAF, Retired USAF, DoD Civil Servant, contractor, etc. Being a military-centric community, we occasionally have opportunity to meet new faces when folks transfer into Robins.
